GDC Qazigund organizes Annual College Road Race

SRINAGAR: The Government Degree College (GDC) Qazigund Thursday organized an Annual College Road Race for Boys from Levdora Qazigund to Bonigam.

The chief guest on the occasion, Deputy Commandant CRPF 163 Battalion, Manoj Shicon was formally received by the Principal Prof. G.R. Verma by presenting a bouquet.

The race was flagged off by the chief guest on the occasion along with the Principal and other faculty members of the college.

The race began at 6 am and concluded at 6:30 am at the finishing line Bonigam with a total run of about 4kms. A total of 30 students participated in the race wherein Rameez Ahmad of UG 4th Sem, Arif Ahmad of 2nd Sem, and Aamir Manzoor Khanday of 4th Sem secured 1st, 2nd, and 3rd position respectively.

The race was followed by the Valedictory function on the college premises wherein Principal Prof. G.R Verma presented the introductory remarks in which he highlighted the significance of sports activities for the harmonious development of students and encouraged the staff for organizing such events.

The Chief Guest on the occasion in his Presidential speech shared his insightful experience and stressed upon the scope of such activities for the health and well-being of students. Deputy Commandant CRPF 163 Battalion extended his full cooperation and support for organizing such events in the future with collaboration.

Thereafter in the felicitation ceremony, the Principal presented the Memento to the chief guest on the occasion as a token of love and appreciation.

To boost the morale of the participants, the chief guest along with the Principal and other faculty members presented the Trophies to the 1st, 2nd, and third Position holders, and medals were presented to all the participants.
