Kupwara Women’s T-10 Cricket Championship Season-3 finals played at Galizoo

Kupwara: The finals of the Kupwara Women’s T-10 Cricket Championship 2023 Season-3 organized by the Indian Army was held at Galizoo cricket ground today in Kupwara.

This was the Third edition of the championship which was started in 2021 with an aim to give the young girls of Kupwara a chance to showcase their talent in the field of cricket.

The championship began on 22 May 2023 in which 20 teams from various schools and sports academies across Kupwara participated. The teams comprised girls between the age group of 14 to 25.

The final was witnessed by school children and other participating teams along with locals supporting their favourite teams and media personnel. The final was played between Growth Sports Academy and Shazaan Sports Kupwara. Batting first Growth Sports scored 101 runs for the loss of 9 wickets and whereas Shahzaan Sports were all out at 65 runs in 13.3 overs. Growth Sports Academy, Kupwara won by 35 runs and lifted the trophy for the championship.

The woman of the match was Arjuman Yousf of Growth Sports Academy and the Player of the Series was awarded to Snober Ali of Dream World -11 Alachizab. The winners were awarded certificates, trophies, and prizes by Senior officials from civil administration and the Indian Army. The participants thanked Indian Army for providing the girls with this opportunity to showcase their talent.

Indian Army is committed to engaging, encouraging, educating, and empowering the women of Kupwara by supporting their endeavors and providing them the opportunity to showcase their talent and make a name for themselves, their community, their state, and finally this great nation.
