The programme was also attended by senior officers from the Board, officers from the district administration, and a large number of aspirant entrepreneurs and educated unemployed youth of the area.

During the interactive session, the officers gave detailed presentations about the modalities involved in the implementation of employment generation programmes viz. PMEGP etc.

The stakeholders were informed that these schemes are online and aspirant entrepreneurs can apply online for availing financial assistance under these schemes.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Hina informed that the government is very keen to boost the handicrafts sector and provide employment opportunities to youth. She added that the time has come to become job providers instead of job seekers and KVIB is playing a pivotal role in creating employment opportunities at a large scale.

She added that J&K KVIB is working in a focused manner to ensure that the benefits of Employment Generation Schemes are percolated among the unemployed and enjoined upon the prospective entrepreneurs especially women to come forward and channel their energy for Nation building by establishing micro-enterprises.

Dr Hina reiterated that the Board is giving special focus on revival of the traditional arts and crafts like Pashmina work, handicrafts, paper machine, khatam band, and copper work.
