2 persons held for burglary in Baramulla

Srinagar: Police in Baramulla have solved a burglary case by arresting two accused persons involved in it and recovered stolen cash from their possession, a police spokesman informed Saturday. 

He said one Abdul Majeed Reshi, son of Asadullah Reshi of Kalantra Payeen Wagoora had complained that some unknown burglars had struck his shop (JK Bank Khidmat Centre) when he had gone for lunch and stolen cash of ₹ 97,000.

A case was registered at Police Station Kreeri and during investigations, police zeroed in on two persons — Ghulam Mustafa Sofi, son of Mohammad Ibrahim Sofi, and Shabir Ahmad Bhat, son of Assadullah Bhat, both residents of Diver Yakhmanpora Pattan.

During questioning, both the accused confessed their involvement in the theft, and on their disclosure, stolen cash was recovered. They have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody, police said.
