Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, officials said Friday.
They said at a checkpoint at Noorbagh Crossing Wussan, police arrested a drug peddler identified as Sarvar Ahmad Ganie, son of Bashir Ganie, resident of Wussan Khoie, and recovered 53 grams of cannabis from his possession.
Police also raided the house of one Farooq Ahmad Lone, son of Abdul Ahad Lone at Gulabagh Wanbathu Tral and recovered 17 Kgs of poppy straw from there. The accused was arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody, police said.
