Shopkeeper arrested in Uri for illegally selling petroleum products

Srinagar: Police in Baramulla have arrested a shopkeeper for being involved in selling petroleum products at exorbitant rates at Uri, officials informed Sunday.

They said a shopkeeper identified as Ajaz Ahmad Awan, son of Bashir Ahmad Awan of Salamabad Uri, was arrested for his involvement in selling petroleum products at exorbitant rates at his shop in Salamabad Uri. Officers also recovered 1020 liters of diesel from his shop, a police spokesman said, adding a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Uri and investigations have been initiated.
