Srinagar: Chief Secretary, Dr Arun Kumar Mehta launched the integration of different services offered by government departments with online platforms Umang and Digilocker, an official spokesman informed Saturday.

He said those who were present at this launch event included the Commissioner Secretary, GAD; Commissioner Secretary, IT; Secretary Health and many other concerned officers and officials.

On the occasion the Chief Secretary recalled that “over the past two years the UT has made big strides towards digital transformation and has launched ‘Digital Jammu & Kashmir’ programme in mission mode aiming at  empowering its citizens by providing quality service delivery to them that also at the comforts of their homes.”

Dr Mehta reiterated the government’s commitment to ‘Zero Tolerance to Corruption’ and provision of  all G2C services at the doorstep without need for visiting government offices. He underscored the need to facilitate accessibility of services at a single place.

Dr Mehta called these initiatives true empowerment of the general public as these would give them unhindered and round the clock access to services from any part of the globe. He advised the department to carry on the momentum so that all the services are integrated with these platforms for the ease of general public. He also insisted on integration of all services with RAS and auto-appeal for quality and timely delivery to the public.

Dr Mehta remarked that as far as carrying government offices in the pockets UMANG is envisaged to act as a master application, which integrates major government services from various sectors on Mobile Platform thereby transforming these devices into portable offices.

The application enables users to access e-Government Services and facilitates a one-stop-solution to avail verified government services. 31 Services of J&K have been onboarded and 11 central services  (AICTE, BBPS, Mera Ration & Vahan) can also be availed by the citizens of J&K.

The six services which were integrated with Umang App include those offered by the Power Development Department namely New Connection, Change of Name, Change of ownership, Change of Category and Track Status.

Twelve services offered by different Departments were integrated with online platform DigiLocker. These include 02 services of Health Department like Age Certificate, Fitness Certificate; 02 services of Revenue Department namely Record of Rights and PSP Certificate and 08 services of  Housing & Urban Development Department namely Registration Certificate of Shops & Commercial Establishments, Municipal Limit Certificate, Trade Fair Permission, Mobile Tower Permission, Street Vendor Licence, Dairy Licence, Road Cutting permission and Pet Dog Registration Certificate.

Regarding these IT initiatives it was termed that the vision of Digital Jammu and Kashmir is to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and equity in the delivery of Public Services thereby empowering the citizens, by leveraging the power of digital and emerging technologies for the welfare of masses.

 

CS launches G-20 Quiz & Photo Competition on My Gov portal

Srinagar, May 20: Chief Secretary Dr Arun Kumar Mehta Saturday launched the open quiz and photo competition about “G20 in Jammu and Kashmir” on the MyGov portal here in presence of Commissioner Secretary, IT, Prerna Puri, an official press release informed.

It said both these competitions are available on the Jammu & Kashmir web portal that could be accessed by logging on to www.jk.mygov.in and going to the active link of the competition there from.

Dr Mehta called these initiatives a way of celebrating the prestigious international event happening under the presidency of our country. He encouraged all residents of UT, especially the students, to participate in these contests to gain knowledge about this big forum and the local customs, traditions and locales.

On the occasion it was given out that the main objective of holding the quiz is to focus on the various aspects of G20 in Jammu and Kashmir and the questions can range from Culture, Tradition, Tourism and IT Initiatives in Jammu and Kashmir. Further, it is aimed at promoting G20 awareness and its understanding among the citizens.

“It can also foster critical thinking skills amongst students by asking challenging questions that require them to think deeply about important summits thereby broadening their horizons, igniting their passion for global affairs, and providing valuable experiences,” the press release said.

After completion of the Quiz participant will get a certificate of participation also.

Regarding the G20 Photo Competition the participants have to submit photographs capturing G20 landscapes in J&K in a creative way to capture the essence and impact of this important international event. The photographs can have specific categories like cultures, traditions, tourism or people and relevance to the G20.

Each photo entry should include a maximum of one photograph with caption, location and date inscribed in it. It should be less than 5 MB and downloadable in JPG format only. The entry should be original and should not have been previously published in any print or digital media without any copyrighted or trademarked images and logos and need to be submitted on MyGov portal till 22nd June 2023, the press release informed.
