JAMMU: Apni Party President Syed Mohammed Altaf Bukhari today said his party is committed to the social, educational, and political empowerment of women in Jammu and Kashmir.

“Women empowerment is our top priority. They are a major section of society that remained neglected for decades. Apni Party has provided ample space and representation to the women to highlight their issues and get them redressed from the platform of this party,” said Altaf Bukhari here at Apni Party Jammu Headquarters.

On this occasion, dozens of women from Samba district joined the Apni Party in the presence of Bukhari.

While welcoming the new entrants into the party fold, he expressed hope that their joining would strengthen the party at the grass root level.

He congratulated the women’s wing of Jammu province for their teamwork and asked them to work at the ground level among the women in every nook and corner of Jammu province to address the issues being confronted by the women.

“The women have played a very important role in every field. However, we think that they need social, educational, and political empowerment in J&K and their empowerment will help them to upgrade their living standard,” he said.

“The Apni Party believes in equality in society. Therefore, we have decided to enhance the marriage assistance of the poor girls at the time of their marriage up to 1 lakh, and this amount would be released within 1 month of their marriage,” Bukhari said.

He also highlighted various other social security schemes which would be launched by the Apni Party if it forms the Govt in J&K.

“The women equally shouldered the responsibility with the men and they deserved to be provided all the benefits from the Govt so that they get free of cost education and health care facility from their childhood,” he said.

He said that the skill development centers need to provide the latest skills to the women so that they can be able to earn their livelihood.

“Women entrepreneurship needs to be encouraged in J&K with the support of the Govt and banks through financial support in the shape of easy loans to start their own business,” he added.
