Announces Rs 20 lakh to facilitate acquisition of Anaesthesia Work Station, Colour Doppler

Srinagar: The Jammu & Kashmir National Conference Member of the Parliament from Anantnag Hassnain Masoodi on Sunday visited the MAB District Hospital Anantnag and reviewed the healthcare facilities being provided to the patients. 

He also visited the ATF (Addiction Treatment Facility) set up in the Hospital.

He was accompanied by Dr Zaago, Chief Medical Officer Anantnag, Dr. Qureshi, Principal GMC Anantnag, Dr Abid MS of the Hospital.

On his visit, Massodi was informed that nearly 5 lakh patients were registered during the previous with the Outdoor department of the Hospital and fifty thousand patients were admitted for indoor medical treatment. He was told that 20 new cases of suspected drug addiction are reported at the AFT unit every week.

Masoodi also visited SDH Bijbehara, where a 24/7 Maternity facility with a Maternal ICU and 2 OTs with the latest equipment have been set up. Masoodi announced the release of an amount of Rs. 20 lac out of his MPLAD account to facilitate the acquisition of an Anaesthesia Work Station, Colour Doppler, and upgradation of the existing Transformer to 250 KV, necessary to make the Facility functional.

He also assured the release of sufficient funds to help ATF Anantnag acquire an adequate number of Test Kits so that the process of identifying drug addiction cases is not thwarted due to the non-availability of such kits. Masoodi was informed about deficiencies in diagnostic facilities in the District Hospital.

Masoodi reiterated the demand for sanction of MRI, PET scan, and CT scan for MAB District Hospital Anantnag.
