JAMMU: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Jammu has alleged that the Union Territory Administration is unnecessarily interfering in the functioning of recruitment agencies as a result of which the future of the J&K youth has been plunged into darkness.
In a statement issued to media here, the senior National Conference leader said: “The government’s claims regarding fairness and transparency are shrouded in the shadow of a doubt as the youth of this Union Territory have become the worst victims of the multiple recruitment scams under the incumbent administration of which FAA, fire emergency services and SI exams and several other recruitment exams were cancelled. The LG Govt can’t disown the responsibility of having utterly failed in ensuring fair, transparent and timely exams as well as the recruitment process as a result of which the youth can only see a bleak future in front of them.”
Rattan Lal Gupta said that already unemployment is at its peak in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory and in view of discrepancies on the part of the LG administration the job aspirants have been compelled to come on the roads for their genuine rights. “Not only this even the daily wagers are the worst victims of the incompetence of the J&K Govt and they too have been compelled on roads for their genuine demand of regularization. It is really an irony that these daily wagers who spent their whole life serving in Govt departments are still without any job security or benefit of Govt schemes because of their non-regularization,” said Gupta.
He questioned the Govt asking the Lt Governor what will be the future of youth in Jammu and Kashmir if things regarding recruitment and regularization keep on going in such a mess and chaotic situation. He demanded that the Govt must clear the mist on the issue and clarify as to whether it is at all interested in addressing the said significant issues or not.
The senior NC leader while seeking LG’s intervention on the issue said that there is ample evidence of LG’s orders being violated by the concerned bureaucrats in the Administration.
Citing the example of the Govt order on recruitment under J&K Rural Livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) he said that the orders issued in 2022 on the directions of the LG regarding not holding oral tests are being violated and there is a huge outcry among all the jobs aspirants who feel that the Govt is hell bent upon ruining their future.
He said that LG’s immediate intervention is necessary before it is too late and the situation goes out of control.
