Srinagar: The cordon and search operation (CASO) launched in Chakoora area of Shopian has been called off as three terrorists hiding there escaped, police sources said.
Earlier, an encounter broke out Wednesday evening between terrorists and security forces in Shopian district of south Kashmir, police said.
The gunbattle got underway after security forces launched a cordon and search operation at Chakoora in the district, a police spokesman said.
