4 drug-peddlers arrested with contraband substances: Police
Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug-peddlers in Baramulla and Kulgam and recovered psychotropic substances from their possession. An absconding drug-peddler who was evading his arrest for the last three years has been arrested in Kulgam, officials said Wednesday.
A police party during patrolling at Janbazpora Baramulla arrested two drug-peddlers — Mohammad Arif Magray, son of Mohammad Ayoub Magray of Chakloo, and Sameer Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Hamid, resident of Janbazpora.
During the search, 143 banned capsules (SPS PHEN Plus) were recovered from their possession. They have been shifted to the police station where they remain in custody.
In Kulgam, a police party at a checkpoint at Chambgund crossing arrested one Rayees Ahmad Mir, son of Mohammad Rajab Mir of Malwan, and recovered five kgs of grinded cannabis and another 110 grams of processed ‘Charas’ (cannabis) from his possession.
Police also arrested an absconding drug-peddler Gulzar Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Hassan Lone of Khargund, who had been evading arrest for the last three years. Police said he was the main kingpin in supplying the drugs to the youth of Kulgam.
