Drug-peddler arrested in Baramulla
Srinagar: Police have arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from his possession, officials said Friday.
One Firdous Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Mohammad Mir of Gonipora Kunzer, was arrested at Batpora Kunzer after 48 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession, police said. He has been arrested and shifted to a police station where he remains in custody.
Police also informed that in the last three months, 113 drug-peddlers have been arrested, seven detained under PSA, 75 cases registered under NDPS Act and contraband worth crores recovered in Baramulla district alone. Some 11 vehicles involved in ferrying drugs have also been seized during this period.
