GANDERBAL: The Divisional Commissioner (Div Com) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri today took an extensive tour of Sonamarg area where he inspected the ongoing work process on Z-Morh tunnel.
During the visit, the Div Com was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir, Tehsildar Gund, and others concerned.
On the occasion, the Div Com was briefed about the progress made on various works of the Z-Morh tunnel including the construction of approach roads, lanes, protective walls, and drains among other affiliated works of the project.
After the physical inspection of the East & West Portals of the Z-Morh tunnel, the Div Com stressed upon speeding up the construction work by engaging more men and machinery.
Pertinently, the Z-Morh tunnel will facilitate locals and tourists to access Sonamarg during the winter season as well which remains cut off during winters due to heavy snowfall.
