Police inaugurate volleyball tournament at Kangan Ganderbal

Srinagar: Under the Civic Action Program, Police in Ganderbal have inaugurated a Volleyball Tournament at Kangan on the directions of SSP Ganderbal Nikhil Borkar in which 16 teams belonging to different areas of the District will participate.

The tournament was inaugurated by ASP Ganderbal Feroz Yeyha who was accompanied by SDPO Kangan Muzaffar Jan.

During his inaugural address, ASP Ganderbal appreciated the teams for taking part in the sports event. He also laid stress upon the young & budding players of the district to allow their minds to explore their own thoughts and imagination through the medium of sports.

The inaugural match was played between Chattergul and Cheerwan, which was won by Chattergul by 2:0.

It is pertinent to mention here that Ganderbal Police is organising different sports events, like volleyball tournaments, football tournaments, cultural programmes, and other Co-curricular activities in the district for the upliftment of sports among the youth. The main aim & motive of organising such events is to develop brotherhood, love, and peace & keeping youth away from the menace of drugs.

Moreover, SHO PS Kangan, SHO PS Gund, SHO PS Sonamarg, and RI DPL, and other senior officers of the Police and Civil Department were also present on the said occasion.
