Div Com Jammu reviews land issues of Airport expansion

JAMMU: Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar reviewed the status of land acquisition and issues related to the Jammu Airport Expansion Project in a meeting held today.

The concerned officers provided details about the project and reported that the land acquisition process was almost complete. However, a few patches of land containing structures and buildings belonging to the Animal Husbandry Belicharna were not yet handed over. They added that alternative land in Nagrota and Chatha areas had been provided to the Animal Husbandry Department for the relocation of their hatchery and office buildings.

The Div Com also inquired about the progress of the construction of the Animal Husbandry buildings in Nagrota and Chatha. Director Animal Husbandry informed about minor issues on the allotted land at both locations. The Div Com instructed the DC Jammu to resolve the issues on the allotted land to facilitate the timely shifting of Animal Husbandry buildings.

Furthermore, the Div Com directed all concerned departments to conduct a joint visit to the Animal Husbandry building site and prioritize the buildings to be vacated initially. The Div Com stressed the importance of vacating the prioritized buildings promptly to ensure the smooth execution of work on the airport expansion project.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Avny Lavasa; Vice Chairman JDA, Pankaj Magotra; Director Animal Husbandry Shubhra Sharma; Chief Engineer PWD, P C Tanoch; Chief Engineer, Irrigation and Flood Control, Manoj Gupta; Assistant Commissioner Central, Pritam Lal Thappa; besides officers of Airport Authority, Civil Aviation and other concerned officers.
