Srinagar: Police on Tuesday said it has arrested three drug-peddlers in Kulgam and Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In Kulgam, police intercepted two suspicious persons — Showkat Ahmad Ganie resident of Chimmer and Bilal Bashir Mir resident of Lagapora — at Lagapora DK Marg, and recovered two kgs of Ganja and 120 gram of cannabis powder from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to a police station where they remain in custody, police said.
In Baramulla, acting on specific information, a police party arrested a drug-peddler namely Bashir Ahmad Mir, son of Ghulam Hussain Mir of Ichgam Budgam, at GokhamaKunzer with 40 grams of cannabis. He was shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in respective police stations and further investigations have been initiated, police said.
