Dr Showkat Hussain Tali receives Global Icon Award

Srinagar: Dr Showkat Hussain Tali (Dr. Showkat Shifa) Assistant Professor pediatrics GMC Anantnag, has been awarded the Global Icon Award in the category of Health Care Excellence- Neonatologist of the Year 2023.

The award was presented to him by legendary Cricketer Sunil Gavaskar in the award ceremony held in New Delhi.

Dr Showkat is the first national board-certified neonatologist from Kashmir. He is the first NNF-Kashmir President and the first Vice-president of NNF-Jammu and Kashmir. He has presented his research work throughout the globe. He is an editorial board member of the archives of pediatrics and neonatology and one of the authors of the Textbook clinical neonatology.

He is the recipient of the national research talent award, the creative writing award by the help foundation and Rajiv Ghandi foundation, the EET-CRS young faculty award, the emerging professional of India award 2022, the best young researcher award for 2022, the first position award for research paper at 7th Arab neonatal care conference Dubai, appreciation award by WHO state branch, best book award for the year 2021 and many more.
