Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Provincial President, Kashmir Nasir Aslam Wani on Friday asked the administration to airlift dead bodies lying in the mortuary of District Hospital Handwara for the last three days but due to the blockade of the road.

Nasir said that these dead bodies are awaiting burial lying in the mortuary at District Hospital Handwara amid continuous blockade of roads in the aftermath of recent snowfall. “The aggrieved families are asking the administration to lend them chopper services so that they are able to take the bodies from the hospital. I also join my voice to theirs and request the district administration to airlift the bodies to their respective native places. So far reports are that few bodies are lying in Kupwara and Handwara. I hope the local administration will lose no time and mitigate the suffering of these aggrieved families hailing from snowbound areas of Karnah,” he said.
