JKRLM conducts session on ‘Fire & Safety’ ahead of “SARAS Ajeevika” fair

JAMMU: Jammu Kashmir Rural livelihoods Mission (JKRLM) in coordination with Fire and Emergency Services Jammu on Saturday conducted a day-long session regarding Fire Safety, in view of the “SARAS AJEEVIKA” Fair to be held in Jammu at aquaplex crown Bagh-e-Bahu from Feb 4th to Feb 14th, 2023.

The training was imparted by Kanwal Peshin Divisional Fire Officer sub-command city Jammu.

Mission Director, JKRLM, Indu Kanwal Chib personally took part in the training session besides other officers and employees of the Mission.

Divisional Fire officer subcommand, Kanwal Peshin gave a detailed presentation on fire safety and its prevention, further All important measures and precautions to be taken during the fire, were delivered to the staff by the expert, later a live demonstration of using fire extinguishers was also held.

Speaking on the occasion, Mission Director JKRLM, said though the standard safety arrangements have been ensured, nevertheless to mitigate the reduction of an untoward incident, she said all the officials should have the know-how, of using fire extinguisher equipment and can contribute their bit in mitigation.

She further thanked Alok Kumar, ADGP, Director Fire and Emergency Services for arranging the session for the JKRLM staff.

The Mela is organized under the guidance and directions of the Commissioner Secretary, Rural Development Department, and Panchayati Raj, Mandeep Kaur.

It is pertinent to mention that in this 11-day long Fair Rural SHG women artisans under DAY NRLM from 25 States, shall participate and sell their products. The self-help groups will display handicrafts, handloom, and natural food items from different rural areas across the country in these stalls.

This would be a national-level fair that will exhibit unique and famous indigenous products from various states and UTs of the country. The event will provide a platform for the rural SHg women to sell and promote their self-made products & create marketing linkages with the various selling platforms.
