FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

JAMMU: Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) Jammu has asserted that NC is the only party in Jammu and Kashmir that has strong secular and democratic credentials and the entire party cadre has been following the same in true letter and spirit.

He, according to the NC spokesperson, stated this while addressing people during flag-hoisting functions at various places in Jammu on the 74th Republic Day.

It is pertinent to mention here that the senior National Conference President hoisted the National Flag at the party headquarters Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan besides during two functions at Indira Chowk and Rani Talab Digiana.

The senior National Conference leader while congratulating the people on the occasion of Republic Day said that it is time to celebrate the most sacred document of the nation i.e. the Constitution but it is unfortunate that even the constitution has become a casualty during the past about eight years of BJP rule at the Centre.

He lamented that Bharatiya Janata Party has divided the erstwhile state of J&K into two Union Territories thus fragmenting this crown of the nation. He added that the saffron party did not stop there its leaders have even divided the people of the region on the basis of religion, castes, and community.

He said the BJP leaders whether local or at the national level are leaving no stone unturned in creating a communal divide and fission on a regional and religious basis. He accused the BJP Govt of changing Jammu and Kashmir into an abode of hatred, intolerance, and violence just for their vested petty interests.

Rattan Lal Gupta said that not allowing the Assembly elections to take place in J&K is the most blatant violation of the Constitution of India by the incumbent Govt. Here in J&K, the people continue to suffer badly in absence of a representative government. “The bureaucratic rule has failed to address the burning issues of the people and the Govt must ensure that elections are held in the state at the earliest,” he added.

Reiterating that NC is the only secular party in J&K that can provide a healing touch to the suffering people, Gupta said there is a need to strengthen the country and communities by maintaining communal harmony and unity among all at all costs. Asserting that NC is the only solution to bring the Union Territory out of the morass of misgovernance, he appealed to the people to further strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah and Omar Abdullah by voting in favour of NC candidates in the impending Assembly elections.
