Dr Mehta complimented the IT Department and the local chapter of NIC for developing this facility for the public. He impressed upon them to take it to the next level so that it guides people about the timelines and methods for applying for specific services.

He maintained that chatbots like Alexa and Siri have been very successful and should actually guide us in upgrading the ‘Digidost’. He underscored the need of including all the instructions, methods, requirements, and information about making applications for the benefit of service seekers.

The Chief Secretary further stated that in order to assess the satisfaction level of the public about the quality of services, IVRS-based feedback should be taken from the applicants. He remarked that the same should subsequently be upgraded by the establishment of call centre for providing all kinds of assistance to the public.

The Chief Secretary maintained that the digital system has simultaneously given rise to transparency. He remarked that transparency as a rule is having the sunshine effect that acts as a cure for several ills prevailing before. He advised the officers to work towards the integration of all these services with RAS besides creating the facility for auto-appeal for service within timelines by various departments.

He also took feedback from the Deputy Commissioners about the status of online services in their districts. He asked them about the response of people besides ways to help them in availing services. He took note of the working of control rooms established in the districts. He told them to provide a Whatsapp number to the public for registering their grievances and instant feedback.

Dr Mehta directed the concerned to notify the rates for availing different services from CSCs across J&K. He emphasized that the rates should be standardized for all of the services offered and uniform across the UT besides ensuring their smooth availability for the public.

The meeting was informed that 387 services have been integrated with e-Unnat now. It was further revealed that in the coming days, more than 400 services would be on board with this platform. It was said that the Department is working untiringly in integrating all the relevant services with the platforms like Meri Pehchan, Service Plus, and DigiLocker besides making auto-appeal provisions applicable to them.
