Admin failed to provide comfort, cushion to people during ongoing winter season: Dr Farooq
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President and MP Srinagar Dr. Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said the stifling bureaucratic policies has left the people of Jammu and Kashmir to suffer.

This he, according to the NC spokesperson, said while addressing a public gathering in the Shahar-e-Khas area in Srinagar. The administrative and developmental inertia, Dr. Farooq said has led to a chaotic situation. “In the current spell of the bureaucratic rule, people have no access to the top echelons of the administration, especially at a time when the people are inundated with problems like ration curtailment, power outages, unprecedented inflation, and scathing unemployment.”

He said that all sectors of public service like health, sanitation, power, public health engineering are in shambles and the people had been left in a lurch. “Nobody is bothered to take cognisance and note the problems faced by the citizens,” he added.

Dr Farooq exhorted the party’s cadre to intensify public outreach, identify people’s grievances and raise them at appropriate levels. “Bureaucracy is showing scant regard for the poor and downtrodden. It is rather unfortunate that the government has mobilized all its machinery to dispossess the poor at a time when it should have been making efforts to provide comfort and cushion to people, particularly during these ongoing harsh winter spells,” he added.
