Winter Sports & Youth Festival-2023 concludes at Budgam

Srinagar: The Five-day long Winter Sports & youth Festival-2023 which was organised by police in Budgam culminated today at Indoor Stadium Budgam.

Earlier, SSP Budgam Tahir Gilaniinaugurated the event on 16-01-2023 under the Police Civic Action Programme which was made up of 03 different sports championships including Badminton, Taekwondo & volleyball including Painting competitions.

On the occasion, ASP Budgam Gowhar Ahmd presented Momentos & cash prizes among the winners/runners-up besides participation certificates were given to all participants. The event was also attended by DySP DAR DPL Budgam Owaise Rashid, DySP(P) Faisal Rishoo, DySP(P) Mubashir Zargar DySP (P) Anjana, SHO Budgam and other police officers were also present on the occasion.

In Badminton, the following winners/runners-up were declared in Winter Sports & youth Festival-2023: Runner up in women’s double: Seerat Jan and Marifat Jan were awarded mementos and a cash prize of ₹2000, winner of women’s doubles: Rabiya and Samiya were awarded mementos and a cash prize of ₹3000, Men’s doubles Runner up: Shuja and Zahoor were awarded mementos and a cash prize of ₹2000, Men’s Doubles winner: Waseem and Mohsin were awarded mementos and a cash prize of ₹3000, Women’s Single Runner up: Samiya was awarded memento and cash prize of ₹2000, Winner women’s single: Rabiya was awarded memento and cash prize of ₹3000, Men’s single Runner up Momin & Zahoor was awarded mementos and a cash prize of ₹2000, Men’s single winners: Waseem Akram was awarded memento and cash prize of ₹3000.

In the Painting Competition age group 8-14 years: Mujtaba Hussain secured first position with a cash prize of ₹3000, Sadiya Altaf secured 2nd position with a cash prize of ₹2000, Muntazir Hussain secured 3rd position with a cash prize of ₹1000.

Age Group 14 -18 years: Mannat Mushtaq secured first position with a cash prize of ₹3000, Tamana Bilal secured 2nd position with a cash prize of ₹2000, and Mehrun Nissa secured 3rd position with a cash prize of ₹1000.

In Taekwondo Azad Beigh attain best Fighter Male category with a cash prize of ₹2500 and Arifa Zehra attain best Fighter female category with a cash prize of ₹2500, Besides Taekwondo Academy Kawoosa secured Ist position, BilluTaekwondo Academy Narkara secured 2nd position. ASP Budgam also presented mementos to Badminton, and taekwondo referees, coaches, and Judges of the painting competition.
