‘Holistic development of agriculture’: Director Agri reviews preparation for implementation of projects in Gbl

SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, today visited Ganderbal and convened a meeting of officers to review the preparations for the implementation of projects under holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors in the district.

Addressing the meeting, Director Agriculture said that the UT government has approved 29 projects under holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors and implementation of these projects would not only energize the agriculture sector but will also change the economic fortune of the farming community.

He impressed the officers to raise awareness regarding these approved projects among the farming community so that the desired results and targets could be achieved. He also asked the officers to ensure that the benefit of these projects reaches every grassroots-level farmer.

The Director Agriculture asked the officers to put in all the efforts and work in close coordination with the officers of allied sectors to address the issues relates to the primary as well as secondary levels.

He reaffirmed the commitment to attract young educated youth towards the agriculture sector and said that efforts at different levels under different centrally sponsored schemes are on in this direction and in the coming days we are expecting good results.

Later, the Director Agriculture inaugurated Vegetable Mandi at STL Manigam.

He was accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer Ganderbal, SDAO Ganderbal, SDAO Kangan, and other senior officers who were present in the meeting.
