Budgam: A passenger bus belonging to Road Transport Corporation was completely damaged in a fire incident on Monday morning in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

The incident occurred near Shunglipora bus station of the district at 7 in the morning.

KNT quoted the driver of the bus, Muhammad Younis, as saying that the bus caught fire as he tried to turn it on to start it in the morning. Within no time the entire bus was in flames, he said.

“Locals helped to douse the fire. The fire-tender from Magam also reached the site, although by then the fire had been controlled,” he added.

Police have taken cognizance of the incident and registered a case under relevant sections of law.
