Mayor SMC reviews Winter Contingency Action Plan

SRINAGAR: The Mayor of Srinagar, Junaid Azim Mattu today chaired a high-level meeting here to review the winter contingency action plan.

Commissioner SMC, Managing Director KPDLC, CE KPDCL Kashmir, CE Jal Shakti, Director FC&CA, Director Social Welfare, Joint Commissioners SMC, Secretary SMC, FA/CAO SMC, Health Officer SMC, SE Drainage Circle, MVO SMC, Ex. Engineer L/R Divisions, CEO SMC and other senior officials from different departments and SMC were present in the meeting.

The meeting discussed threadbare preparedness, an action plan and steps to be taken in case of any eventuality during the ongoing winter.

Issuing clear-cut guidelines to the concerned officials, the Mayor directed all HODs to establish a joint control room in coordination with allied departments so that there will be a smooth clearance of the roads.

In order to ensure hassle-free movement in and around hospitals, Junaid directed CSO to sprinkle salt within hospital premises well in advance especially on ramps so that the general public does not face any inconvenience.

He also directed the PDD department to keep all front-line warriors ready in case of any eventuality. On the occasion, the PDD Officials assured the complete readiness of its frontline warriors with a buffer stock of electric transformers.
