While addressing the meeting, Commissioner Secretary reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing ecosystem support to those PIAs who desire to work for good of the society.

Mandeep Kaur asked the PIAs to submit complete details of current and prospective employers where the candidates have been placed and are yet to be placed as well. She emphasized the need for revision of existing trades under which PIAs are imparting training in view of the current market scenario. HIMAYAT Mission shall coordinate with other departments for seeking different trade opportunities in various sectors required for the youth of J&K, she maintained.

The meeting also had a threadbare discussion regarding the redressal of issues pertaining to the training and placement of candidates by the PIAs.

Commissioner Secretary had an exclusive interaction with the PIAs regarding their future plans and strategies under HIMAYAT Mission in the coming years.

The PIAs apprised the Commissioner Secretary of the issues related to ERP portal and various banks.

Commissioner Secretary assured the PIAs that HIMAYAT Mission shall coordinate with the banks and MoRD for the resolution of these issues.

Pertinently, Himayat is a Skill Development-cum-Placement programme for unemployed youth targeted at school and college dropouts. The focus is on placements of youth in a befitting manner commensurate with their level of education and their aspirations.

Under the umbrella of DDU-GKY, Union Ministry of Rural Development, HIMAYAT Mission has been entrusted with an ambitious mission of training and placing candidates from across the UT through the Project Implementing Agencies (PIAs).

Earlier, Chief Operating Officer HIMAYAT briefed about the performance and ongoing activities of the PIAs.
