FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Jammu: Congress has termed the year 2022 year a year of youth unrest due to multiple job scams, record unemployment, continued protests by different sections of temporary employees minority killings, and fresh migration, besides uncertainty on the political front.

“The incidents of increased targetted killings of innocents especially minorities have led to panic, unrest, and migration of minority employees from Kashmir be they PM package migrant employees or Jammu region reserved category employees. It was a grim reminder of the situation of the 1990s,” said JKPCC Chief Vikar Rasool Wani.

“These incidents nullified the claims of the normalcy of the Government and the ruling party, rather brought to square one, the efforts and achievements of the previous Government in the direction of return & rehabilitation of minorities in the valley. Another worst area of concern is the series of scams in recruitment, causing great unrest amongst the unemployed, who are already frustrated due to record unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir, due to the lack of job opportunities in the Government and private sectors, contrary to the big claims of the BJP Government and LG administration,” said Wani.

He said that the daily wagers, need-based, casuals, contractual, and other temporary & semi-employed besides many such categories of youth like NHM, Anganwadi workers, CIC operators, NYC youth, and others are the continuously on the streets seeking resolution of their genuine demands, aș per commitments of BJP during 2014 elections. “It was another year of political uncertainty, as the center failed to fulfill the commitment to restore the statehood, promised on the floor of the Parliament and restore democracy, even after more than 3 & a half years of governor/Lt Governor rule.”

“I am wishing a happy and prosperous New year to the people of Jammu and Kashmir, and the Congress party hopes that the New year would bring some respite to the sufferings of different agitating sections, especially the unemployed youth, and see the restoration of statehood with land and job security and holding of early Assembly elections to have a People’s government în the state,” Wani added.
