Shameema Firdous visits fire-affected families at Gudood Bagh
Distributes compensation among victims
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Women’s Wing President Shameema Firdous on Wednesday visited the six families impacted by the massive fire incident in Gadood Bagh Srinagar.
Speaking to victims’ families, Shameema urged the victims’ families to stay strong. She also distributed Rs 60,000 among the affected families and assured all possible support to them in these tough times.
“People are accusing the administration of a slack attitude towards their plight. The damages incurred by these victim families are yet to be accessed, I hope the administration will live up to its duty and ensure the affected families are compensated adequately. The amount of compensation given to such affected is too meager to make recompense for their huge losses. I hope the amount is increased so that the fire victims are able to rebuild their dwellings and purchase other household items,” she said.
