The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhury Mohammad Iqbal addressing the event highlighted the importance of coordination between the farmers and officers of the department.

He said that the best way to celebrate Kissan Diwas is to increase the frequency of visits to farmer’s fields and make the farmer’s community more and more aware of the different programmes (Centrally Sponsored schemes, Flagship programs) of the department.

Director said that the UT government has approved 29 projects under holistic development of agriculture and allied sectors, and implementation of these projects would not only energize the agriculture sector but will also change the economic fortune of the farming community of the region.
