Three injured in LPG cylinder blast in Gonikhan, hospitalized

SRINAGAR: Three youth from frontier Kupwara district in north Kashmir were injured after a Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) suddenly exploded in the kitchen of a rented house at Gonikhan locality in uptown Srinagar late last evening.

A police official told ‘Kashmir Images’ that three youth hailing from Kupwara district in north Kashmir presently put up in a rented accommodation were injured after a gas cylinder went off at Gonikhan area in uptown Srinagar.

He said the injured were immediately taken to Sri Maharaja Hari Singh (SMHS) Hospital where they are undergoing treatment at the moment.

He also said that a formal case into the incident has been registered at the concerned police station and investigation set into motion.

He identified the injured trio as Musharaf Khaliq Mir son of Abdul Khaliq Mir, Nissar Ahmad Mir son of Gulzar Ahmad both residents of Taratpora Kupwara and Tanveer Ahmad Raina son of Nazir Ahmad Raina of Jumagund Kupwara.

A doctor treating the injured trio at SMHS hospital told ‘Kashmir Images’ that they were brought to the hospital late last evening with burn injuries and are undergoing treatment.
