Sopore: J&K Peoples Conference Sr. Vice President and Former Minister Abdul Gani Vakil today said it is unfortunate that the LG Administration has failed to retrieve the body of an 18-year-old girl who died after jumping into river Jhelum eight days ago.

In a statement issued here, Vakil said that stopping the rescue operation just after a few days of search is shocking and shows how much we are prepared to face such eventualities.

Vakil demanded that a well-equipped rescue team needs to be called from Delhi who can start this rescue operation again so that family of the girl can have a sigh of relief if they receive the body of their daughter.

Vakil also appreciated locals of the Sopore area who were working day and night in this rescue operation with the administration and it is unfortunate this current LG administration has let them down as well.
