Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha on Saturday said that the incident in Rajouri, in which two civilians were killed, was unfortunate and also announced relief of Rs 5 lakh for each family.

Office of J&K LG, as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) in a Tweet said the incident in Rajouri is very unfortunate.

LG also extended condolences to the bereaved families.

“The incident in Rajouri is very unfortunate. Condolences to the bereaved families. The price of a life cannot be set in monetary terms but still I announce an ex-gratia relief of Rs five lakh for each affected family,” LG J&K tweeted.

On Friday morning, two civilians were found dead outside an Army camp in Rajouri district, following a firing incident.

Following the incident, massive protests erupted in the area with locals demanding action against people involved in the incident.
