Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a drug-peddler in Bandipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
Acting on specific information that one Abdul Sattar Seergojer, son of Jumma Seergojer of Malangam, has indulged in drug peddling and hoarded a huge quantity of narcotic substance in his cowshed near his residential house, police raided the specific location and recovered a polythene bag containing 1.5kg of ‘charas’ (cannabis) powder from there.
Personal search of the accused person yielded another 30 grams of charas, police spokesman informed, adding that he has also been arrested and a case (FIR No. 187/2022) registered under relevant sections of law.
