Srinagar: Apni Party President Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Monday said that only a strong democratic system at the grassroots level will fetch political and economic empowerment to J&K people.

He was addressing a largely attended public rally in the Hajin area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, wherein he received a warm welcome from the people and his party workers on his arrival at the venue.

According to a press note issued here, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari extended his gratitude to the Hajin people for electing Apni Party-backed candidate Naza Begum in recently held DDC polls. He also greeted Naza Begum for her win.

While addressing the gathering, Apni Party President emphasized on strengthening the grassroots democracy and said, “Democracy entitles people to choose their own representative to place them at the helm of affairs. Apni Party will keep striving to ensure that J&K has a strong democratic system required for the people’s political and economic empowerment.”

He added, “During the past 75 years, J&K has mostly been ruled by political families, who weakened our democratic system and disempowered people for their political gains. These political families have always exploited the masses through emotional slogans and fake promises.”

He assured that, unlike the traditional political parties, Apni Party will never try to deceive or mislead the people for its political gains. He said, “Apni Party believes in the politics of truthfulness. We will never try to mislead you with fake promises and emotional slogans. We pursue an unambiguous agenda to ensure sustainable peace, prosperity, and development in Jammu and Kashmir, and the political and economic empowerment of its people. And, we know that these goals are achievable.”

He explained, “Almighty has bestowed Jammu and Kashmir everything in terms of natural resources that are required for sustained prosperity and development of this land. We have enough resources to pave the way for development and create employment opportunities here.”

“But need sustained peace, social justice, and strong democratic institutions here so that we can explore our potential fully.” He added.

On this occasion, Apni Party’s Senior Vice President Ghulam Hassan Mir while addressing the rally said that the most important thing that people in Jammu and Kashmir need is sustained peace.

He said, “Apni Party believes in politics of peace and honesty. We never try to allure people through emotional ideologies. We want to see our youth prospering and thriving. We will never show them the path that leads either to jails or graveyards. We strongly believe that Jammu and Kashmir, which has been grappling with a long phase of violence and bloodshed, needs a peaceful atmosphere for prosperity and development.” He added, “We cannot afford further deaths and destruction here. We have to work for a better future for the young generation. And, Apni party has a clear vision for the peace, prosperity, and development of Jammu and Kashmir.”

Apni Party’s Vice President Usman Majid while addressing the rally said, “People of Hajin have suffered a lot during the past thirty years. But time has changed now. Apni Party will leave no stone unturned to put an end to the miseries of the people. We are here to wipe the tears from the eyes of the sufferers and give hope and a promising future to the young generation.”
