Wani is a former contesting candidate from Khansahib who secured around 16000 votes in the 2014 Assembly Elections. While welcoming him into the fold, PC President Sajad Gani Lone said that Wani has a lot of struggle behind him and is widely respected for the work he has done for his people. He expressed hope that in the coming years the JKPC would play a pivotal role in contributing to the welfare and politics of J&K.

“It is with great pleasure that we welcome Manzoor Sahib into our party. We are very happy that he has joined us and our party will benefit immensely from his experience. I am hopeful that this caravan of change will get stronger and play a constructive role in the extraordinary situation in J&K and navigate it through the troubled waters”, he said.

While speaking on the occasion, Manzoor Ahmed Wani said that he joined PC because the party has a rich legacy of sacrifices behind it and is the only party that has the leadership to take J&K out of the current impasse and deliver for the people of J&K.

“Peoples Conference has rendered immense sacrifices in the past and has a rich legacy of striving to accord people a dignified way of living. The party has the required cadre who have gone through thick and thin and can be trusted to lead the people and take J&K out of the entangling imbroglio. There is a growing trust deficit between the people and the political leadership. Traditional parties have lost relevance because of their active role in the disempowerment of the people of J&K in the last seven decades,” said Wani.

“Through my numerous interactions with PC President Sajad Lone sahib, I was convinced that in view of the current political situation PC is the only party that can bridge that gap and serves the people of J&K through politics of sincerity,” he added.
