JKTPO organises “Investor-Startup Meet” for J&K based Startups

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Trade Promotion Organization (JKTPO) on Saturday organized Investor Startup Meet for J&K based Startups to interact, discuss and network with prominent Investors

The meet was held at the Conference Hall, Jawaharlal Nehru Udyog Bhawan in the presence of other Startup ecosystem stakeholders.

The objective of this Meet was to provide an opportunity for J&K-based StartUp founders for pitching their venture ideas in front of investors and other Startup ecosystem stakeholders in order to receive seed funding and building relationships for exploring growth opportunities.

Khalid Jahangir, MD-JKTPO talked about the role and efforts of JKTPO in providing markets and investor connections to startups in J&K. He added that 100+ unicorn Startups are coming up from different parts of India and there is huge potential for growth opportunities for Startups from J&K. He emphasized on more such programs to connect J&K based Startups for funding opportunities.

Amit Singal, Founding Partner – Fluid Ventures talked about his investment portfolio of more than 100+ Startups. He said many people from J&K are working on their Startup ideas in other metro cities. He guided startups regarding how to prepare their Startup pitch deck and storytelling Skills. He advised founders to focus on research work before starting a venture rather than making assumptions about consumer behavior and market demand.

Prof (Dr.) Abha Rishi, CEO, Atal Incubation Centre-BIMTECH talked about AIC-BIMTECH and the different kinds of offerings for Startups by them. She talked about the importance of the Startup incubation program and working with incubators, investors, and other startup ecosystem stakeholders. She explained about debt funds and different schemes for Startup fundraising.

70+-year-old Startup founder G. D. Sharma from Anmol Shakti FPC working in a special type of mushroom cultivation pitched his venture and attracted the attention of the visiting team members. Promising Startups from J&K like Studio Agama, Aquaplex, Anmol Shakti FPC, VR-Eco, eSnick, KHIDMAT ventures, SESTI, PayUsnap, etc participated in this Meet and presented their Startup pitch deck & discussed their venture with the Investor to raise seed fund. 

Startup Dramaturge Pictures aims to produce high-quality, multi-genre regional films of exceptionally high production value for a modest budget. eSnick is an online marketplace (app/website) for local businesses, supplemented with a delivery channel. STUDIO AGAMA is formulating Advance Heritage Conservation Techniques Combining Art with Science and Creativity with Technology. Anmol Shakti FPC has 520 women mushroom producers and is already growing the oyster variety Pleurotus Ostreatus mushroom round the year. Aquaplex is working on entertainment-based startups especially floating cinemas, open-air cinemas, etc. 

VR-Eco is an Innovation Hub that aims to deliver brilliant nature-based innovative solutions and provide products and technologies with an unrivaled advantage of securing the planet earth and its people.

The experts, while going through all pitch decks, guided startups to add value to their start-up pitch deck. They also gave specific inputs to every participating startup to improve their business model, sales and marketing strategy, customer acquisition, market reach, scaling, etc to build a profitable venture. The Meet helped participating Startups to meet Investors in person and discuss their business model and initiate further rounds of the meeting.

In addition to such events, JKTPO is also providing forward market linkages to product and service based startups by providing opportunities to participate in various B2B events, Trade fairs, and exhibitions all around the year.
