Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference senior Vice President and former minister, Abdul Gani Vakil, today welcomed the decision by the HC to probe the recruitment process and lambasted the administration for its utter failure in conducting SI and JE examinations in a fair and transparent manner.

In a statement issued here, Vakil said that it is a matter of great concern that the administration, despite being left red-faced by allegations of illegalities and irregularities in the recruitment process, has awarded the recruitment contract to the same company which was blacklisted for its infamous role in the exams conducted a few months ago.

“The government canceled the earlier conducted JKSSB SI Exam and JKSSB JE Exam based on reports of brazen irregularities and illegalities. Following the cancellation of the exams, the Jammu and Kashmir HC has asked the administration to probe into the matter. However instead of probing the matter, the administration went ahead and awarded the contract to the same recruitment agency which was involved in the irregularities earlier,” he said.

Vakil further urged the LG administration to take serious note of the matter and direct the administration to conduct a free and transparent probe into the matter.

“The careers of our youth are being destroyed by a cabal with vested self-interests. Young girls and boys have been preparing for the exams for years now but the exams have been mired with allegations of corruption and irregularities. It is unfortunate and painful to see the callousness and indifference of the administration toward our educated youth. Such an attitude has the potential to further push the youth to the wall and alienate them from the system. The LG administration must take immediate cognisance of the issue and probe the matter without any bias,” he added.
