DDC re-poll elections: Amid tight security, counting of votes begin at Drugmulla, Hajin—A

Srinagar: Counting of votes for the re-poll of DDC elections in two constituencies including Hajin-A and Drugmulla began on Thursday morning at the two district headquarters amid tight security.

A top official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the first round of counting has been started at the two counting stations.

He futher said that security arrangements have been made to ensure free, fair and smooth counting of votes. “Counting agents of different political parties have also reached the centres,” he added.

The official further said that the counting exercise will be recorded by CCTV cameras and will be overseen by observers also.

Pertinently on Monday, around 43% voter turnout was recorded at these DDC constituencies.

As per the officials, 53.33% turnout was recorded in Hajin-A, while 32.73% was witnessed in Drugmulla—(KNO)
