My Town My Pride: Comm Secy Revenue assesses issues of people at Kulgam

KULGAM: Ambitious programme launched by the government ‘My Town My Pride’ began here today in all four Urban Local Bodies (Municipal Council and Municipal Committees) in Kulgam district.

On the first day of the programme, the Visiting Officers listened to the issues and concerns of the people besides taking stock of the development scenario in these areas.

Commissioner Secretary Revenue, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, who is the Visiting Officer for Municipal Council Kulgam visited Kulgam where he interacted with the people to listen to their issues for redressal.

He was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner, Kulgam, Dr Bilal-Mohi-Ud-Din-Bhat, SSP, Dr. G V Sandeep, President Municipal Council, Kulgam, Muneeb Ahmad, and other Councilors and officers.

He also inspected stalls installed by different departments to aware people of their schemes and programmes.

Registration counters were also set up to provide on-spot registration facilities to the beneficiaries here at Rest house Chawalgam Kulgam.

Later, Commissioner Secretary distributed sanction letters, golden cards, and domicile certificates among the beneficiaries besides giving away land passbooks to the land owners. Besides, the beneficiaries were also provided advance mobilization payment under PMAY-U.

Earlier, a plantation drive was kick-started by planting a sapling of Conifer at Rest house Kulgam.

On the occasion, colorful and mesmerizing cultural programmes were also presented by professional groups and school students.

Meanwhile, in the Municipal areas of Devsar, Frisal and Yaripora the Visiting Officer Sheikh Fayaz Ahmad, Commissioner Secretary Floriculture, Parks and Gardens, visiting officer to Yaripora, Mufti M Farid Ud Din, Secretary Royal Spring Golf Course, Visiting Officer to Frisal, Mohammad Ahsan Mir, Director Command Area Development Kashmir, Visiting Officer to Devsar listened to issues of people in these areas.

They also took stock of the developmental scenarios in these areas.

In these Municipal Committees, awareness sessions regarding government schemes, sanitation drives, plantation drives, distribution of land passbooks, and other activities were carried out.

Meanwhile, registration counters were set up by the departments at the designated venues where people were apprised of government schemes and beneficiaries were also registered on spot. The visiting officers also took rounds of these stalls and counters.
