‘2000 Kisan Kidmat Centres to be set up for farmers to provide facilities at their door step’

Dulloo attends Kisan Sammelan at Arnia

 

 

 

JAMMU: JK Advisory Board for Development of Kisans today organised a Kisan Sammelan at Saini Resorts  Arnia.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dullo was the chief guest on the occasion while as Professor JP Sharma, Vice  Chancellor SKUAST  also attended the function.

The aim of Kisan Sammelan was to interact with progressive farmers with the officers  of Agriculture Department  and allied sector with special focus on the issues of farmers  living in the border area of Tehsil Arnia.

The ACS said that it was great to interact with such progressive farmers from border area and added that the suggestions from farmers were very valuable.

Dulloo directed the Chief Engineer of Irrigation Department to release water in Ranbir Canal from March 1, 2023.

He said the issues and demands flagged by farmers community would be resolve at the earliest.

Dulloo directed the concerned to repair the tube well and also install new tube well in the areas where there is  requirement for irrigating crops.

He said that the 2000 Kisan Kidmat Centres would be set up in the UT for farmers to provide all the facilities at their door step.

He said that the government is supporting the farmers both financially and technologically and should take maximum benefits from it.

He asked the farmers to adopt the diversification of crops in their fields so that they can earn round the year.

The ACS also visit BoP Vikram Trewa  BSF post and inquired about the cultivation of land near fencing line and the support of BSF in sowing of crops there.

He also visit seed field Trewa village  and KissanSammelan  to distribute the certificates  among the progressive farmers and allotment of 10 sheep units to a farmer Pinki Devi.

VC SKUAST also addressed the farmers and added  that KVK scientists  are providing the scientific techniques to the farmers.

During the program, Director Agriculture Jammu apprised the ACS about the progress being made in agriculture in Jammu division under various schemes.

He informed the gathering of farmers about the incentives available under various centrally and state sponsored schemes of the department and urged them to avail the benefits.

Earlier, Sarpanch Trewa, Balvir Kaur submitted the memorandum of demands of farmers.

Director Floriculture Jammu, Director Sheep Husbandry Jammu, District & Tehsil Officers of allied departments, PRI members and other officers of the department also accompanied the ACS on the occasion.
