New Delhi: India logged 291 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of Covid cases to 4,46,72,638, while the active cases declined to 4,767, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Thursday.

The death toll climbed to 5,30,622 with two fatalities reconciled by Kerala, the data  updated at 8 am stated.

The active cases comprise 0.01 percent of the total infections, while the national COVID-19 recovery rate increased to 98.80 percent, according to the ministry website.

A decrease of 88 cases has been recorded in the active COVID-19 caseload in a span of 24 hours.

The number of people who have recuperated from the disease surged to 4,41,37,249, while the case fatality rate was recorded at 1.19 percent.

According to the ministry’s website, 219.92 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far under the nationwide vaccination drive.

The three deaths reported in a span of 24 hours are one each from Himachal Pradesh, Kerala and Maharashtra.
