Srinagar: A woman drowned in a power canal in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.
Official sources said that Rahati Begum, 42, wife of Abdul Salam Chopan, a resident of Hariganiwa, Ganderbal, drowned in a power canal in the same village in the evening.
After hectic efforts, her body was retrieved by police with the help of locals, they said.
They further said that police have taken cognisance of the incident and started an investigation in this regard.
