Agri Deptt endeavouring for socio-economic transformation of farming community: Iqbal

SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal, today visited Vegetable/Floriculture nurseries of Anantnag district. 

He also visited changes and some other villages of Anantnag and interacted with the farmers of different villages and monitored the various agricultural activities in the district.

During the visit, the Director met farmers from different areas on the field and took on spot feedback regarding the various agriculture activities and interventions introduced by the Department and adopted by the farmers of the area.

Addressing the farmers of different areas, Director assured the farmers that the Department is committed to providing every possible technical guidance to them during various agriculture activities. He asked the farmers to strictly follow the instructions and guidance provided to them by the department (Extension workers).

He said that the Department is endeavouring to provide farmers with the latest technological interventions during the cultivation of different agricultural crops so that good returns could be fetched and socio-economic transformation of the farming community of the region could be achieved.

Iqbal directed the concerned officers to assist and facilitate the farmers during different post-harvest management activities and winter cultivation of different agricultural crops. He asked the officers to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the farming community of the region.

Director Agriculture was accompanied by Chief Agriculture Officer Anantnag, and some senior officers of the department.
