Srinagar: Police on Friday said it has arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession in Anantnag.
Acting on specific information, police raided the residence of one Adil Ahmad Shah, son of Bashir Ahmad Shah, resident of Doni-Check Anzoola, and recovered 5.5 kgs of ‘Bhung Boosa’ from there. Accused Adil was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
In DK Pora, police intercepted a vehicle (DL4CNE-0285) driven by one Irshad Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie of Shelipora Achabal, and recovered 250 grams of ‘charas’ (cannabis) from his possession. He was arrested and the vehicle was also seized.
Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered and investigations have been initiated, police said.
