In a statement issued here, Mir said, “The frequent power cuts in both metered and non-metered areas across the Valley has brought miseries to the people. People are frustrated to see that the power department violates even its own curtailment schedule in most of the areas here.”

Urging the LG administration to intervene in the matter to ensure sufficient power supply to the consumers in the Valley, Ghulam Hassan Mir said, “Administration must realize that people are already facing tremendous difficulties due to the harsh winter days, and the unscheduled power cuts increase their problems. The Administration must intervene to make the officials of the Kashmir Power Development Corporation Limited (KPDCL) accountable in this regard. The department should not go for the power cuts beyond a certain limit or the announced schedule.”
