Saurabh Bhagat reviews Special Summary Revision at Bandipora

Attends awareness prog on PM KUSUM, Rooftop Solar Schemes

BANDIPORA: Commissioner Secretary, Science and Technology, Saurabh Bhagat, who is also Electoral Roll Observer for Baramulla Parliament Constituency, today visited Bandipora and chaired a meeting of officers to review the status of progress under Special Summary Revision.

Pertinently, Bandipora district has three assembly constituencies with 151 panchayats.

It was informed that District Election Office has received 34449 claims for form 6, 191270 claims for form 6B, 13800 claims for form 7, and 13114 claims for form 8. Besides, Bandipora has achieved enrollment of 21456 against the target of 17980 apart from increasing EP ratio to 59.37.

Deputy Commissioner apprised that Bandipora has achieved 85.10 percent progress in Aadhaar linking.

Dr. Owais also apprised the Commissioner Secretary regarding the activities being carried out under SVEEP and other election-related activities in the district for disseminating awareness among the people.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Secretary appreciated the efforts of the District Administration in special summary revision. He stressed on cent percent linkage of Aadhaar with the electoral roll.

Saurabh Bhagat also exhorted upon the officers to work with added proficiency and maintain coordination so that the best results could be yielded at ground level.

DPO, Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, ADC Waseem Raja, Dy DEO Noor u din, ACR Parvaiz Rahim, SDMs, Tehsildars and other concerned also attended the meeting.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Secretary, Science and Technology, Saurabh Bhagat, attended an awareness programme organised by the Department of Science and Technology at the mini secretariat Bandipora.

The programme was organized with the aim to sensitize the farmers regarding the use of Solar Energy in irrigation pumps.

Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Secretary said that PM KUSUM is primarily meant for the upliftment of the farmers. He urged upon the officers to educate people regarding the benefit of the scheme so that benefit of the scheme percolates to the grassroots level.

He exhorted upon officers to identify the areas for the development of model solar villages.

Saurabh Bhagat apprised the gathering regarding various benefits and incentives being extended by the Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, under the PM KUSUM scheme.

It was informed that the scheme allows the farmers to install subsidized Solar Powered Pumps up to 10KW.

On the occasion, the pamphlets containing all the related information on Solar Pumps under the PM-KUSUM scheme and Rooftop Solar Scheme like prices, subsidy amount, and beneficiary shares were distributed among the farmers.

Deputy Commissioner, Bandipora, Dr. Owais Ahmed, DPO Bandipora, Mohammad Ashraf Hakak, ADC Bandipora Waseem Raja, officers from J&K Science Technology, Horticulture and Agriculture departments besides district administration attended the awareness programme.
