Dr Ashaq Hussain given Science Communicators Award at Nagpur

Srinagar: Dr. Ashaq Hussain Associate Professor Chemistry Govt. Degree College Chatroo has been given the Science Communication Award for his outstanding contribution to the field of Science popularisation and science communication activities by the Association for research and training in Basic Science Education during the silver jubilee of Apoorva Vigyan Mela organised at Nagpur.

The award was presented jointly by Kapil Tumane Member Parliament, Dr. Nakul Prashar Head Vigyan Prasar Department of Science and Technology, GOI, Dr. Amit Benergi Pro Chancellor SOA University Bhuneshwar and Suresh Agarwal Secretary ARTBSE Nagpur.

In his message Dr. Shafqat Hussain Rafiqi Principal Govt. Degree College Chatroo while congratulating Dr. Ashaq Hussain for this achievement added that the award is basically a reward for his hard work and efforts that not only made him happy but is a feather to the cap of Govt. Degree College Chatroo in particular and Higher Education Department in General.

It is pertinent to mention that Dr. Ashaq Hussain is actively involved in the popularisation of science and science activities by arranging and delivering different science programs, science workshops, and science melas across the length and breadth of the country using low-cost no-cost materials to demonstrate various science activities. 

Besides academic activities, he is a good researcher and writer as such has published a good number of research papers, books, and hundreds of articles of diverse nature in different papers and magazines.
