Demanding an increase in facilities at existing railway stations like waiting areas, washing rooms, and lighting in railway coaches across the valley, Masoodi said, “There is an urgent need to replace coaches that are in bad shape with modern facilities and look to correspond with the surrounding scenic ambiance.”

Seeking an increase in the frequency of trains between Banihal to Baramulla, he sought additional halt points at Sangran, Monghall, and Naen Batpora.

He also demanded the construction of an approach road to Ratanpora Halt and expedite work on Baramulla- Banihal, and Jammu- Poonch. “Laying of Railway line between Qazigund- Pahalgam will also increase the tourist rush in Pahalgam and bring the destination on the national tourist map,” he added.
